In praise of the ampersand

I love the ampersand. I don't know why, I just do. I use it when I write, yes. But that's not all.

I like to look at it on my desk:

I covet these cushions by Aunty Cookie (aka Shannon Lamden, Melbourne designer). I don't think it'll be too long til I get me one!

So, in closing, there's nothing this little symbol can't do. So much more than an abbreviation of the conjunction 'and'; not just a ligature of the latin 'et'. It's beautiful but utilitarian, graceful yet bold. Really, it's the perfect logogram!
