Blog renovations

I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm finally going to do it. I'm going to give this blog an overhaul and in the process make it into something bigger and better. I'm still thinking about what this will entail and how the blog will look and feel but it's an exciting prospect and I've been taking lots of notes about it whenever I get the chance.

Btw, the gorgeous blue spiral-bound notebook is handmade by Rebound Books.

I'm going to re-launch this blog in the new year with a new look, new content and new focus. I'm thinking Monday 30 January 2012 is a good launch date – it will give me enough time to fully develop my ideas, plus, who does any work in December or January? I mean, really!

In the meantime, I'll still blog intermittently, but when I launch the new-look blog I plan to keep to a more regular schedule. I'd like to blog daily, but that might just be setting myself up for failure. But three times a week seems reasonable...what do you reckon? Maybe I'll think about it and get back to you...

While I want to maintain its personal nature and share the work that Kim and I do, I also want this space to be one where I get to explore ideas and the creative process. I want to celebrate and showcase art, illustration and writing that I love. I hope to feature other artists and illustrators, show inspiring and interesting images and explore ideas related to creativity. I want it to be a resource for others as well as a place where I collect and dissect all the amazing things I discover on the web in my (probably too frequent) internet travels; a repository of sorts.

After all, if I channel all this into my blog I can stop calling my aimless internet surfing 'procrastination' and start calling it 'work'. Hurrah! Genius, no?
