Works on Paper Opening Night

Last night we got along to the Brunswick Street Gallery 'Works on Paper' exhibition opening. It was amazing to see the works close-up and I was more than a little chuffed to see mine on the wall.

There was a prize announcement but we didn't stay for it because we had Missy P with us and there's only so much you can do to amuse a 12-month-old at an art exhibition opening. She was very good though, considering, and enjoyed pointing randomly and incomprehensibly at artworks, people, shadows on the is her want.

So when it got a bit hot and crowded and P got rubby-eyes, we took our leave. We did find out later that the one that impressed us a great deal - a huge charcoal on paper work by Catherine O'Donnell (below) received second place, which I'm pretty sure is the prize of an exhibition in the gallery in the next 12 months. We will definitely be getting along to see that one.

For those of you who can't get along to the show, here's the next best thing. You can browse the works on the online gallery.
