Linden Postcard Show 2010

Well, it's been open for a couple of weeks but yesterday we finally went to the Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts to check out the Postcard Show.

It was so much fun! Artwork, artwork everywhere. Every spare wall space was filled with works. So much colour, so many fascinating, excellent, interesting pieces. The only requirement for this exhibition was that the pieces be no larger than 30 x 30 cm (and the winners would be re-printed on promotional postcards, hence the show title). So any and every medium could be used. There were oils, acrylics, watercolours, photographs, mixed media, collages, sculptures. Honestly, it was such a lively, vibrant, dynamic show. If you get a chance to go along I highly recommend it. The show ends on 27th March. Click here for Linden Gallery opening hours and address. If you're interested in checking out our pieces, they're hanging in the first room to your right as you enter the main entrance. They're not hanging together so it's a challenge to find them (it took us a while!) but they have a catalogue at the main desk which can help (the pieces are listed under Kim Wiley and Jodi Wiley).

Also, our visit was made all the more exciting by seeing red dots next to our pieces. We have sold 5 out of the 6 pieces we're exhibiting, which is so exiting I can't even begin to tell you!

Hanging at the Linden Gallery until 27th March. (For Sale)

We then proceeded to have a most excellent celebratory lunch at a Japanese restaurant down Acland street which served edamame! If you've never tried this soy bean treat then I urge you to order it as a starter next time you have Japanese. It's addictive! We love edamame so much we're planning to grow the beans in our vegie patch so we can cook them up any old time.

All in all, we had a lovely day, and Miss P was very happy to be out and about, people-watching on Acland Street, and waving at anybody and everybody. It's her new thing. We love it. She'll be ten-months-old tomorrow. Time flies!
