Making a day of it

We had to take our artworks to the Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts in St Kilda yesterday so we thought we'd make a day of it. We stopped off at the Rose Street Market on the way and discovered some amazingly talented artists selling their prints and other lovely things.

Here's Belafonte:

We also really liked Philippa Garrard and Jessica Hyde's work. Check them out if you get a chance.

We've decided we really need to get better at drawing figures. Kim's pretty good already actually, so I'm probably speaking for myself. Am going to get the sketch book out and start with penning our bub. She's on the verge of crawling so I can get her in that all-fours-ready-to-go-but-not-sure-how-to-get-there pose. So damn cute!

Anyway, we're really excited about setting up our own little stall at Rose Street in a couple of weeks (Saturday 30th January is our first market there). Such a funky little market - tucked away in a side-street in Fitzroy - it's filled with gorgeous, unique, one-of-a-kind, amazing things. It's very difficult to keep your money in your pocket...

The Linden artwork drop-off for the Postcard Show was a well-oiled machine. As we were waiting to deliver our own pieces we snuck looks over shoulders and spied some amazing pieces that other people were delivering. It should be a really fun exhibition. The initial effect of floor to ceiling artworks is very over-stimulating at first, but then you begin to pick out individual works to admire, and it's just such an inspiring and invigorating show to see. The exhibition opens on Saturday 6 February and runs to the 27th of March. We have 6 canvas artworks hanging (3 each). A little bit excited about it!
